My name is Lisa Marie Marcus, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Supervisor, and Therapist at Holistically Divine Counseling. The values which drive my approach are that each one of us has a story that deserves to be heard in safe, supportive environment. All Humans have unique gifts and abilities that often become quieted or softened through life events, trauma, or simply being in this complex world. My hope is to be a mirror for each one of my clients to see the best of who they are and understand their own capacity to heal. Faith/Spirituality can be an incredible source of such strength and personal healing. My practice seeks to integrate a biopscyhosocial (person-in-environment) approach to care and explores the eight dimensions of wellness. My intention is to encourage a deep, personal understanding of how the world, systems, structures, culture, our health, personal economics/jobs, friends/family/neighbors, expectations, and our own ideas impact the way we show up each day.
My counseling approach is eclectic in that I pull from a variety of approaches with the consistent undercurrent of meeting each client where they are at and individualizing each treatment plan with the hope to enhance the strengths of each human. I am an interpersonal counselor trained in Trauma-Informed Approaches, Meaning Centered Psychotherapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT. With experience in adult populations, my unique areas of expertise include life transitions (women transitioning from pregnancy to motherhood), grief/loss, managing chronic medical conditions, and navigating a complex medical diagnosis, anxiety, depression, and relationship dynamics.
I believe counseling can be a transformative, healing experience for each individual ready to be courageous to explore more about who they are and what/how to show up in the world. We each have a story, what a beautiful way to understand it through therapy, and perhaps even re-write the endings we often give ourselves without knowing how to be open to the limitless paths life offers.
