Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.

My name is Michelle C. Owusu, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), therapist at Holistically Divine Counseling. I believe that all humans have the right to be seen, heard and understood. As human beings, we each hold value and deserve a safe space to feel supported and validated in our times of need. I value building trusting relationships based on empathy and acceptance by treating all people with dignity, respect, and kindness. Listening with compassion, without judgment and while prioritizing the needs of my clients is my number one priority.
I provide therapy based on the needs of my clients to allow self-exploration. Through self-exploration, we work towards creating an optimal level of functioning. The techniques I utilize include cognitive behavioral, client-centered, solution-focused, multicultural, and trauma informed. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and enjoy working with individuals and couples of various ages, races, cultures, and presenting concerns including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger management, grief/loss, and life transitions.
I hold a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University and I have been fully licensed as an LCPC in Illinois for 15 years. I am passionate about helping others and believe that providing a safe space is a priority in being able to assist people in navigating through life. I know that making the decision to seek out therapy can be difficult, and I admire your courage in doing so. I am excited about the possibility of working with you!
