Hello, my name is Temilolu (Temi) Slack, and I am a Clinician-in-Training at Holistically Divine Counseling. I hold a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Benedictine University and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. At the heart of my work are values rooted in empathy, justice, dignity, and grace. I believe every person carries a story that deserves to be heard with compassion and curiosity—not judgment. I see people as resilient beings who are capable of growth, even in the face of overwhelming adversity. My mission as a clinician is to walk alongside individuals on their healing journey, creating space for them to reconnect with their sense of identity, power, and purpose. Faith and spirituality are integral to my approach to counseling; I believe true healing often involves restoring not just the mind and body, but the spirit as well. Incorporating God’s view of humanity allows me to meet clients with deep understanding, wisdom, and a commitment to walking with them toward light and wholeness.
I am trauma-informed and culturally aware, drawing from an integrative and person-centered framework. I specialize in Client-Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based practices. I am also trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As a first-generation Nigerian-American, I bring a culturally sensitive lens to my work and a deep understanding of the complexities of identity, acculturation, and intergenerational expectations. I have a special interest in working with individuals who have been marginalized due to socioeconomic barriers, cultural oppression, or intergenerational trauma—including those impacted by domestic violence and other forms of violence. My goal is to support clients in cultivating inner strength, emotional awareness, and a renewed sense of hope.
I believe that counseling can offer people a path back to themselves. It creates a safe space to be seen and heard, to unpack the weight of life, and to reimagine what healing can look like. Counseling allows us to honor the past, navigate the present, and shape a more empowered future. It is a sacred process of returning to the truth that we are worthy, whole, and capable of change.
